"The artist must not forget that in him lies the power of true application of every method, but that that power must be developed"

OPEN HOUSE & INSTRUCTOR EXHIBITION
Saturday, February 11, 2012 2pm-5pm

The Raleigh Institute of Contemporary Art (RICA) is an art school modeled after the Arts Students League of New York, which is based on an atelier school concept: art is taught and skills developed through immersion in the practices of drawing, painting and other arts. Our instructors are prominent working artists, whose methods of instruction emphasize visual thinking and building artistic skills. The RICA class format allows students to learn at their own pace, incorporating their own ideas and goals. During each four week session, the students will create their own art project under instructor’s guidance and assistance. We strongly believe in learning through the process of making art.
