Jonathan Peedin
Jonathan Peedin is a figurative and portrait painter in Raleigh, NC. He received his BFA in painting from East Carolina University and attended the Art Student’s League in NYC to study with notable painters Ray Kinstler and David Leffel. As a teacher, he will focuses on the individual student’s skill level and then applies techniques to elevate each student’s sight and capacity for producing finished works. This teaching approach will allows the student to learn to see light and reality more correctly so that they can better render forms on canvas in oils. The use of measurements, formulas and systems like squinting are tossed out in favor of direct sight practice and understanding the properties of light and the application of paint.
